Top-5 underrated drivers of 2017

One of the most exciting drivers to come out of Denmark in recent years, Patrik first rose to fame in 2015 as he claimed the rookie title in the Ginetta Junior Championship.

Matthiesen remained on the TOCA package the following year by competing in British F4 where he claimed a trio of points scoring finishes at both Thruxton and Snetterton. This season Patrik has competed in a contrasting motorsport championship with great success, being crowned SP3-GT4 drivers champion in the 24H Series alongside British motorsport legend Colin White.

The unlikely partnership has been beneficial to both drivers as the pair have consistently led the way in their class, being extremely unlucky not to take the overall title as they were denied the class win in the season-ending 12 hours of Spa by additional entries from Mercedes as they tested their new GT4 car.

Nonetheless, Patrik has adapted superbly to the challenges of endurance racing and has embraced the atmosphere of the CWS team, while working with a variety of teammates to achieve the best possible results.

Having experienced such a wide variety of motorsport series at such a young age, Patrik would be a true asset for any team looking to develop and is surely set for a career at the highest levels.
